zeppelin2k Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 I just bought a 1993 lexus sc 400, and I was wondering it has a minor leak, also a bit from the exhaust, what could it be? any guesses?
SirSam Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 I have the same issue, havn't hydro lifted it yet to see close enough.
TexasComputerMan Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 I have the same issue, havn't hydro lifted it yet to see close enough. ← You need to get it up in the air and check it out. It Could be the High Pressure Hose from the Power Steering to the Rack. My 1992 SC400 was leaking and it was this hose. To buy one from Lexus is Very expensive. If that is your problem, look for a Hydralic Hose repair center in your city/town. I got mine fixed for $48.00. Another leak Could be the Power steering pump itsself. You really need to get that fixed quickly. That is above the alternator and Can short it out. Thus you would have to replace both the Altenator and the Power steering pump. When you get the car 'up in the air' you will need to remove the cover under the engine to see where the leak is. :(
SirSam Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 I just looked at it tonight on the lift, definately oil. It looks the rear main seals. I only have 112k on it, should they go bad this early?
