Hi Everyone,

I am a newbie here and have enjoyed reading all the helpful information on this forum.

I got my new 2005 RX330 (bamboo pearl) four months ago and really liked it.

Unfortunately, someone rear-ended the car in a shopping center parking lot last Friday when I was out eating dinner. The majority of the damage is on the rear bumper, with dents and scraches on the front.

I called my dealer (Pohanka) to see if they have a body shop, and they transfered me to Pohanka Collision Center.

Does anyone have any experience with Pohanka Collision Center? Any recommended body shop in the Northern Virginia region (preferably near Chantilly/Fairfax area)?

Your help is highly appreciated.

Thanks

-Charles

The best place in northern VA is probably Wagonworks Collision, do a websearch you'll find it.

Hi,

My husband had great work done at Beemers ( or Beamers) in Arlington with his Acura.

One time minor amount of work - similar sounding to yours, and one time a total crash.

They work on lots of luxury cars. However they are a distance from Chantilly/fairfax L

I backed my Jeep into my RX330 a few months back. At least I knew the cuprit was insured! Anyway, I was going to let Pohanka collision fix the RX so that I could take advantage of the loaner program. Turns out that only applies to maintenance, not body work. So I took the car to a local body shop out in Warrenton where I live. They did good work, finished on time, etc. etc. Their name is Waterloo Motors.

I have never used Pohanka's body shop though I bought the car from them.

I have used Lindsay Lexus/Cadillac in Alexandria on minor body work on my GS 400 and Toyota Cressida. Lindsay does excellent work. I highly recommend. BTW, a poster mentioned Waggenwerk. They are known to do excellent work, but I think their primary work is on German cars and I am not sure they will handle Japanese cars.

Beware of Lindsay. The work is excellent but we had problems with the paint bonding on the front bumper and it began peeling, tried again peeled again. It was slightly peeling when my dad traded it in (98 LS400)

Damn, how'd that guy do that? Lucky it missed the rear quarter panel that would have made the repair much harder.

I am not sure exactly how this happened. I was eating in Baja Fresh when it occured.

There were 5 cars involved in this accident (the car in front of mine and the car on the oppisite direction of the traffic are not shown in the pictures). My best guess would be the car that hit mine tried to avoid hitting another car coming from the oppisite direction, and steered right into my right rear bumper.

Good thing is no one was hurt. I would say my car shifted at least 2 feet toward left and 1 feet forward due to the impact.

Maybe I can dig up my old physics book to find out how fast the car was moving at the time of the impact :P

Call Edsel Auto in Alexandria (Off 395 and Edsel road.). I use them for all my work and they are great. Even better, they do fantastic work and they are honest.

They aren't close to Fairfax, but they are worth the drive.
