Almost all decortive wood these days is grown and replaced just for this purpose. The plastic parts they put in the 400h are even worse on the environment. ← The "wood" they put in the other models seems pretty well encased in plastic itself. That shiny slick surface isn't wood.

That shiny slick surface isn't wood. ← The shine is the clear acrylic they put on it. It protects the wood and makes it sniny. it doesn't work well against ring marks, but still.........
patt Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 And acrylic is a type of plastic. Once the wood is encased in that, it isn't so natural anymore.
