gotdubz Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 i gota brand new alarm 2way system with remote start ive been waitin to install or is the lexus factory alarm better as far as security is concerned.....
cruznroadking Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 I think that the factory alarm is a great system. If you decide to have the aftermarket alarm installed bring it to an installer that knows what they're doing. Depending what year your car is all late model Lexus's came with multi-plex wiring, which means 1 wire may control 2-3 different functions. You may accidently tap into a circuit & short out 1 of the computors by overloading it. I know someone that bought a car with an aftermarket system on if already & it blew out the body (ecu).

If someone wants the car they will get it or it's contents. You should consider getting the car chipped with a gps tracking device.
cruznroadking Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 I agree, Lo Jack is very popular in this area. Included with the GPS tracking this company can actually shut off the ignition at the flick of a switch.
SKperformance Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 Agreed with the good installer part. I use both mine when needed but the secondary is for a good workign shocksensor which needs a major thump not a loud civic driving by it.
gotdubz Posted March 22, 2005 Author Posted March 22, 2005 all of those are true, maybe ill just get the remote start for those cold winters and hot summers.
