Steady73
I asked the dealer if any updates were available for the GPS system, he replied yes and the cost is $340. This seems out of line, however, I do not know what is required. Is this cost reasonable for the update. Thanks.
cruznroadking
I know someone that just had it updated at the dealer for $295. He had to wait a couple of weeks for it. Unless you're in real estate or always driving to new developments there may not be a need right away. Basically the updates include new housing developments & shopping malls. TAGGAR
I have a 1999 gs300 with navigation. It is my understanding that Lexus used a hard drive to store maps and it's only updates every 2 years. The next update will be out in late 2006 and it does cost about $300. I beleive in 2001 they started using a CD ROM based system which is to upgrade. TAGGAR
I believe the most updates version for the hard drive system is from 2004. The CD roms are updated much more frequently than two years for the hard drive. They can be brought on ebay for $20-40 Taggar

Their prices for everything else is also a lot cheaper than any dealer I've been to in PA, MD, or NY

gus400
I was quoted $340 for update also. They said it was 2003 version and they won't be doing any more updates for the hardrive version, because it can't hold all the new information. Bummer! It will be something like 33033 o believe. Make sure you dont get a 4th generation nav disk, it wont work. You have a 3rd generation dvd unit.
