93 Gs 300 Brake Lights Not Working

Hi, has anyone experienced the shifter not being able to move due to the brake lights not working in a 93 GS 300.

It is not a fuse so I dont know what is causing the brake lights to work sporadically.

Please let me know if anyone can help with this problem

possilby the brake release switch.

There is a switch that is activated when you step on the brake to take the shift lever out of park.

Maybe this has crapped out. I think this is tied into the brake light switch.

Can you shift using the manual override?

Thanks for the help, I am not sure about how to use the manual override.

That sounds like a good start, is this a part available anywhere or is it just a dealer part.

Would you know how easy it is to install?
