I just purchsed a 2005 GS430. I have the 17" wheels and find that the car has terrible sway problems. The car is impossible to keep in a straight line unless the road surface is perfect. Any little imperfection and the car moves arond on you. Also at 60+ MPH, the whole front end shimmies like the engine is not secured or isolated properly. Has anyone had this problem. The sway sounds like a bad tire.

First get the wheels fully aligned for camber, toe-in, caster and SAI. This can make all the difference.

Lexus told me the front end was out of line and they fixed it. They also ballanced the tires for the vibration. For starters, why is a brand new car out of allignment?

The car still sways but is somewhat better but the heavy shake of the front end is still there. Nothing in the wheel. It still feels like the engine itself is vibrating out of phase with the car.

I recently had exact problem as described with my GS400. It turned out to be a frozen caliper. Everything is fine after replacement.... worth checking out.
