LKY
Hi, I have a 99 RX300 and I'm thinking about getting some magnetic oil plugs for the truck. Just wondering if you guys have any "pros" and "cons" about the plugs? Also, mine is from Canada. So I'm not quite sure about the sizes for them. If you guys could provide some advice and where to get them, would be greatly appreciated!
Messerchmidt
isen't the oil plan plug in there magnetic already? I would not mess with it if it is not broken, if oil leaks out and you do not notice, your going to need a new engine.

wwest
Provided the aftermarket magnetic one seals well I can't imagine any harm. And when you change the oil if you find particles attached you can take it directly to the dealer for an engine swap or overhaul. If you find particles attached then something is failing or has already failed.
TunedRX300
If you see metal particles in the oil pan, something is really wrong with your oil filter (e.g. bypassing valve open all the time). Its supposed to catch > 20 micro particles. Find out why ASAP or kiss your engine and bearings bye bye.
