1966 mid-year Dodge Charger 360 fastback

1987 Ford Thunderbird

1987 Honda Accord

1988 Toyota Celica Convertible

1988 Mazda B2600 Truck (5 inch lift and big tires)

1989 Trooper

1998 Honda Accord

2000 SC 300

Whew -- a lot of highway miles and have loved every one!

Note: Still have the truck for the woods, the Celica convertible as the closest my wife will let me get to a motorcycle, and the Lexus for class. Remaining surviving vehicles distributed between three kids and their spouses.

The Lexus, by far the most intriguing ride that still stirs the soul everytime on a road trip! Truly, precision work-of-art on wheels. The SC is a keeper!

Thx to all for learning so much on this site ...Lexcalibur

 I drove a '92 Acura Integra GSR for three years before my SC. Loved that car. I bought with 49K miles(three years ago) Sold it with 109K Mi. CREAM PUFF.

I drove a '91 Acura Integra that I got used with 70k on it in '94.  It was the first car I bought with my own money.  I got 273k out of the original engine, and (reluctantly) sold it.  But the kid who bought it is a tuner, so I know the teg will be resurected with all the mods I never had the money to get done (i.e., lowering, extensive bodywork, etc.)  -  I wish I had kept it now, the 2nd generation body style is nearly timeless.

So how about you all?  What were some of your previous rides?

67 Camaro (restored & sold before I even had my license)

85 Grand Prix (bought at auction wrecked, fixed up; got hit 2x in 3 days; totalled)

85 Civic (5 spd; used it up then gave it away)

99 Avenger (totalled)

89 735i (maintenance cost horrible; sold)

92 Bonneville (decent car, actually; sold)

00 Passport (lot of utility for the money, no frills; sold to get $ back and put in stocks)

95 Escort (my wife's that she owned since new, I drove it and gave her the Passport)

89 Accord LXi (great car, 29mpg (5 spd) even when rode hard; favorite memory: smoking a late model Eclipse)

04 RX330 (stock investments paid off; mainly my wife's car)

95 SC400 (got rid of the Accord, hated to see it go)

I think I'm forgetting one or two, I have a list somewhere . . .

I'm 31, by the way. Hopefully a new GS is on the horizon, but I may be swayed into an AMG or M series.

A 1997 Ford F-350XLT Crew Cab dually with the PowerStroke turbo diesel. An excellent truck! I could haul at least 4 SC's with it! LOL!

Over 250,000 miles and the truck feels like it is just being broke in!

-1989 Ford Probe GT Turbo..quick car that got about 30mpg@70mph and could smoke Mustang 5.0's! Had over 320,000 miles on the motor! I let it sit for 4 months, dropped in a new battery and started right up! Current owner is now doing a partial restoration on it.

-83 GMC stepside truck with an oak plank bed. Head turner! Attracted a lot of attention, though it was a chocolate brown.

-90 Beretta I picked up for $150 (freeze plug in motor blew), put another 2.8 motor in it(another $150), drove to Portland,OR and back (nearly 5000 miles) and sold for $200.

-89 Bronco II. the predecessor of the Explorer with the rollover capability and turning radius of a Wrangler, fun though!

-82 Chevy Caprice with a vinyl top, but Brown! Very comfortable ride (like a Caddy), inexpensive to maintain, and a tank! Hit a sign pole (metal stop-sign like pole) with a reflector on top doing about 65mph, didn't even scratch the chrome bumper!

-85 Audi 4000E, 5spd. 1st car; FREE! nice, quick, but so many common VW electrical problems that it was not worth keeping!

Always Toyotas for me.... in order from first car to last before the SC400.

'82 Celica GT-S

'78 Celica GT-S

'85 MR2

'89 MR2 Supercharged (sold to buy SC400)

'85 Supra w/6M-GE engine and lotsa other mods

'87 Camry (beater)

'92 Camry (sold to buy SC400, had 420,000 km on clock, currently at 455,000)

I think there's one I'm forgetting, all were bought with my own money, between the ages of 16 and 20. I had the MR2SC for over 5 years and LOVED IT. But my dream car was always an SC400 or MKIV Supra. Guess I'm livin the dream. :D

Aaron

p.s. Now to find a 1GZ-FE 5.0L Toyota V12 for a one of a kind engine swap. Lotsa people want to buy used 1UZ-FEs...

Since I'm 62 years old, I've owned a bundle of them so I'm sure I've forgotten some. Anyway here goes:

38 Chev coupe

40 Ford Tudoor

49 Dodge Convertible

49 Plymouth Convert. Main set of wheels in High School. Was extensively customised. Lowered, leaded, etc. Great car.

56 Mercury tudoor hardtop. College wheels. Great car for attracting girls. Nice car.

57 Pontiac Safari station wagon

57 Plymouth Belvedere tudoor hardtop. Good car.

58 Triumph TR2 roadster

59 Ford tudor sedan

60 Maserati 3500 GT. One of the best cars I ever owned. I sold it to finance a trip to Europe otherwise I'd probably still have it.

62 Plymouth Valiant tudoor sedan

65 Pontiac GTO

65 Corvair Corsa Convert

66 Chevrolet Malibu Convert

66 Diamler 2.5 Liter sport touring saloon. Owned two of them. They looked like Jaguar Sedans but had a small block hemi head V8. Fun cars but typical British electrical problems.

67 Oldsmobile 442 (two of them. 1 auto, one 4 speed)

61-67 Volkswagens. I owned 4 or 5 of them.

47 Ford pickup. Had a 52 Mercury engine.

46Willys Jeep

58 Ford pickup. Had a punched out 406 Ford engine. Fast truck.

68 Ford pickup

70 Ford Mustang

75 Bradley Gt. Kit car body on a 72 VW super Beetle pan. It was a ridiculous excuse for a car.

75 Fibrefab Jamaican. Another kit car. Body was mounted on an Austin Healey frame. Had a Buick V6 with an auto trans.

81 Toyota 4 whell drive pickup. I still have it. Has 37,100 miles on the clock.

82 Dodge Shelby Charger

87 Honda Accord sedan

89 Honda Accord sedan

91 Honda Prelude

92 Lexus SC300 5 speed. Have owned it for about 2 years. It currently has about 113,000 miles on the clock.

93 Ford Taurus SHO. Was a 5 speed. I just sold it a couple weeks ago. Great car! The guy that bought it was tickled to death. He couldn't get over how fast it was.

2004 Honda Civic Hybrid sedan. It's a bean can but gets good milage. I use it primarily as a work commuter car and drive the Lexus on the weekends.

As near as I can remember, that's it. Happy motoring.

1992 Honda Accord Coupe

1995 Acura Legend

and Now 1996 SC400 (sometime 1992 as a beater car:-)

'98 Honda CRX Si.

No offense, friends, but the best car I've ever owned. Fast, fun, supremely reliable. It was even great in the snow! Bought it new in May, 1989--and practically had a bidding-war on the thing, mere hours after I posted the ad online to sell it, last summer.

Before that...

'88 Hyundai (uggh; had to quickly replace the Supra [below] which died)

'79 Supra (pretty and cushy, but a mechanically a piece of junk)

'76 Torino station wagon (a hand-me-down!)

'69 Ford Galaxie 500, with the old 390 c.i.d. V-8. My first car. Big, floaty, cop-car/taxicab/turnpike cruiser. Ahhh....

Red '97 Pontiac Firebird base model with 3800 V6. Engine was still perfect at 136,000 but the automatic tranny had started to slip a little when cold. I got $3000 for it in trade against a '95 dark green SC400 with 60,000 on it. Price on the SC was right! $10,000. This all happened yesterday.

1974 Chevy Vega. Wagon. Brown. Quite possibly the worst car ever made ("Fill it with oil and check the gas, wouldja?"), and an absolute chick repellent.

things got better, though ...

1979 Mazda 626 5-speed (still no ponies, but handled nicely)

1982 Honda Prelude (another great handler)

1982 Honda CBX 1100 (fastest production bike of it's time)

1988 Acura Legend (classic shape, nice and quiet, still only 170 HP)

1992 SC400 (also test drove a Q45 (the one with the hood medallion that reminded my wife of Brooklyn))

1991 BMW 325i ragtop (wifemobile, fun, spins up like a Cuisinart)

1991 BMW 850i (garage queen, weekend ride, geared too high)

Hmm, my newest car is 13 years old. Wish I hated it so I could get that new G35, but it's still a great car. Woe, the luck. :)

1980 Datsun 310- poor barking system. traded with a new acura integra.

1986 acura integra-nice engine sound especially when you rev up to redline. had a baby and has to sell it.

1988 celica gts- it was a scary one. did not inspect all the vin numbers of the car parts. Traded it with a 2 year old honda accord

1992 honda accord - nice car but needs more hp. sold it and replace it with a camry.

1997 toyota camry V6 - quietest car I ever had. Decent power. The engine just humms when cruising at 65 mph.

1995 SC 400 113k miles. got it for $5500 three weeks ago. only need a power steering pump. Car is in very good condition.
