Question About Replacing Stock Headlight Bulbs!

i have a '90 LS and want to replace the stock halogens with xenon bulbs. ive been told by some that my headlights will actually melt because the xenons put out too much heat but some have told me they have xenons in their LS's and they havent had problems. has anyone replaced their LS headlight bulbs with xenons and experienced problems (or haven't)? any help would be greatly appreciated - email is [email protected]
