Lonnie
Hello, new to this forum. Im considering getting a 93' Lexus GS 300 240k miles. Everything has been replaced except the engine and transmission. My question is how long do these engines last? Should I be using premium fuel? TurboGS300
Yes on the premium fuel, as far as mileage it all depends on the treatment and maintenance of the engine. <_< However, the 2jz-ge is one of the best motors out there.
Lonnie
Thanks for the response. It is mostly highway miles on the engine and they had always been using premium fuel. They said that the engine does burn some oil but that would be suspected with a engine with that many miles. Would it be benificial to use some sort of fuel cleaner to clean out the engine as well? Im just wondering if anybody has gotten 300k on a lexus engine in here? How many miles do you have on yours.
TurboGS300
If you use chevron premium gas you really don't need to use a fuel cleaner. They have techron already in their gas. It wouldn't hurt to throw in some fuel injection cleaner. Walmart has it real cheap and I try to throw in some every other tank, even though I don't really need to. I have 110 thousand on my engine and I've replaced everything as well. I would check and make sure the timing belt and water pump has been changed every 60 thousand, if so it's about time for it to be done again.
