I am going to put a K&N cone type filter replacement in my car. I've researched the typhoon, and other short ram/cold air intakes and they don't seem to be much punkin (as they say on the farm  ). My question is: Do I need to unplug the ECU in order to reset it after I change my paper filter with the K&N?

Thanks in advance

You shouldn't need to. Even if the K&N makes a little difference, the ECU will catch up in around 200 -300 miles of driving.

yah you don't need to but who wants to wait

just pull the ecu fuse rather than all the battery cables

which may mean redoing all the radio presets

I believe resetting the ECU is only going to take it back to the default. It's still going to have to be driven to learn. relearn as you drive. If you're just putting a K&N replacement filter in, it's not that big of a change.
