newport Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 Seen this ad on this forum www.turbonator.com can this thing work on my Lex gs300 mk1 98 sound too good to be true, the uk forum says NO GOOD. Has anyone on here tryed one ???
bartkat Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 No, they don't work. Just another gimmick. :(
newport Posted November 18, 2004 Author Posted November 18, 2004 OH WELL!. I thought as much, I could not see how it could of worked. My god there is alot of crap on the net I think the LOC should NOT have these ads on this forum. its a rip off
CUMan Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 It looks almost identical to the "Tornado," which is advertised so heavily. I bought one of these several years ago and have tried it on several different cars. It never seemed to make any difference, either in increased power or gas mileage. These things are ripoffs. I agree that folks that allow them to advertise should be more selective. How much would it cost to manufacture these things? $1.00, perhaps. Isn't it logical that if they provided more power and increased gas mileage, the manufacturers would immediately install them in their cars?
newport Posted November 18, 2004 Author Posted November 18, 2004 I AGREE, Come on LOC Get this "rip off" grap off the forum before some other lexus owner falls for it. (like I almost did), thanks to the members here and in the uk I did not. Thanks guys.
VBdenny Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 What DOES work is replacing the stock air filter with a K&N filter. Amazing difference. Tornados belong in Oklahoma, not inside your engine.
Matthew_McNally Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 I AGREE, Come on LOC Get this "rip off" grap off the forum before some other lexus owner falls for it. (like I almost did), thanks to the members here and in the uk I did not. Thanks guys. ← it is not advertised here. it may have appeared in the ads provided by google - if you feel ads should mot appear for the product, you should take it up with them.
VBdenny Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 thanks Matthew, I was kind of wondering since I hadn't seen it mentioned except in a couple of threads. I still hear people talking about the amazing tornados. I talked to people who bought them and they all said they thought they worked great.... for awhile. Then they realized that they didn't so anything. I thought ithe therory sounded feasible, but I am not an engineer.
newport Posted November 25, 2004 Author Posted November 25, 2004 Sorry LOC I feel a right t*t. as matthew said the ad must of come from google as I was not able to find it again. Im sorry again LOC I should of known this club has too much class for crap like the Turbonator. :)
bartkat Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 Just ordered a K&N filter ← Kewl. Isn't Shropshire the home of the famous sheep? When I was a kid on the farm in Ohio people had shropshire sheep and we had hampshire pigs. :D
