leecrew
I was having problems with noise/vibration while driving and thought it was wheel bearing/front end trouble but the dealer told me that the front end was fine and that the wheels are bent. I have the 17" alloy rims and TOYO Proxes FZ4 215/45/ZR17. Can anyone recommend if they have had similar problems? Can the noise be the tires? Should I repair wheels or buy new ones? Any help is appreciated.
bartkat
Most big tire stores have a radial runout guage that they can check for "out of round" condition. That might be a good place to start and verify that this is the problem. A bent wheel or out of round tire will shake, but I don't know that it would cause a rattle type noise. Michelle44
Are all 4 of your tires the same? Sometimes if they are off balance this creates the vibration noise. That's what happened to me. A lot of times it's just the tires.. and not the car.
is300drifter
from my own experience (all four of mine are out of spec) and other peoples it seems the is wheels are prone to bending....no proof, but i have heard many complain about this exact problem.
