B1653 how to fixed Quote It sounds like your Lexus is throwing multiple diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) related to the airbag system and ABS. Here's a breakdown of what these codes typically mean and how you might address them: C1203 - ECM Communication Circuit Malfunction: This code suggests a communication issue between the Engine Control Module (ECM) and the Skid Control ECU. Possible causes include a faulty ECM, incorrect ECM installation, or wiring/connectivity issues. C1345 - Linear Solenoid Valve Offset Learning Undone: This code often appears after brake system components are replaced. The ABS actuator and pump assembly require a solenoid valve learning procedure to recalibrate brake pressure control. B1653 - Airbag System Issue: This code is related to the airbag system, possibly triggered by the seat replacement. It could indicate a problem with the seat position sensor, wiring, or airbag module. Possible Fixes: For C1203: Check wiring and connectors between the ECM and Skid Control ECU. Ensure the ECM installed is correct for your vehicle. Perform a reset and initialization using a diagnostic tool. For C1345: Perform ABS Solenoid Valve Offset Learning (Calibration) using a scan tool. If calibration fails, inspect the Skid Control ECU and related wiring. For B1653: Verify that all seat wiring connections are properly secured. Check for any damaged wires or connectors related to the airbag system. Use a scan tool to reset the airbag system and clear the code. If you're unfamiliar with using a diagnostic tool, visiting a professional mechanic or dealership might be the best approach to ensure proper calibration and troubleshooting.
McBrian Posted May 18 Posted May 18 Agreed with the above you'll most probably need the dealer's computer to recalibrate the system. Sometimes you can get lucky with replacing airbag parts, but like ECUs and TPMS, they have IDs that need to be registered with the systems. Sometimes it's just because the battery wasn't disconnected with the replacement (VERY dangerous) so try disconnecting the battery for a long time, double checking ALL of the yellow wiring connections, then letting the car self learn at key on engine off (do not start it) If that doesn't work. Dealership or local Euro/Japanese shop.
