Razjahz1 Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Hey can anyone let me know how much i should drop my ride when i install adjustable coilovers my front tire is kinda scraping the side when i turn?
McBrian Posted May 14 Posted May 14 It's up to you. There's no hard number. Most general spring kits drop 1 - 1.5" (more for race kits) from stock height and stock wheel/tire size with no interference issues. Add in larger and wider wheels, your area's infrastructure/conditions and you (should) adjust accordingly. And don't buy cheap. You CERTAINLY get what you pay for in this case. To add: Coilovers cannot just be bolted on with eyeball measurements. Takes a bit of on off/trial and error (for at least the first one) and you have to test for your driving environment. I'm having trouble with sourcing (even from KYB) shocks that last so if I keep the car I will probably be going with a coilover kit in the future, but I know I'll have to have access to a rack, scales, and time to make sure they're done properly. My ongoing OCD issues from driving a properly corner-weighted car vs one that simply looks good.
