PB62 Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Hello. I just purchased an 03 Lexus RX300. Only 90k miles, drives beautifully, clean. But..all the windows have spots, like a leopard. I took it to a local tint guy, he was honest and showed me with a piece of tint how applying it would exacerbate the spots. I'm grateful for his honesty but I'm disappointed his only advice is to replace the windows. I am going to my local window replacement service at pick your parts, but I was wondering if anyone out there have any other solution. Appreciate it!
rich1068 Posted May 1 Posted May 1 I think the only thing you could try is some glass polish. The slightly abrasive stuff like Autoglym Glass Polish or similar. Not the regular spray cleaner. Is the glass burnt do you think? Some sort of acid etching? 1
McBrian Posted May 1 Posted May 1 0000 (four ought) steel wool and windex and/or the mentioned glass polish. No need to put your whole body into it, Just gentle pressure from the base to the top (bottom towards the top NOT side-to-side) but it will take off those acidic water spots. Just make sure it's kept very wet. Be very careful though on your trim pieces. I'll do this once or twice a year to keep sand pitting from getting that weird refractive shine as well. Have used it on Ferraris and Corollas. 2
PB62 Posted May 8 Author Posted May 8 Thanks for the response! I have absolutely no clue 🤷♀️ The tint guy said it couldn't be removed well by him at least. That the only thing I could do was to replace the glass.
