martinjon03 Posted January 31 Posted January 31 I have a 96 gs 300 that i bought recently and a absolutly amazing car, i have been replacing fuel filter and the air filter but for some reason, sometimes i am losing power when stepping on the gas. I have bought a new air mass meter to replace, but it seems that mabye its something whit the electrics mabye distributor, im not sure. It usally happens when the engine is cold but could happen when its warm. But all of a sudden it runs great and i have normal power in the engine. Somebody have any clues what it might be?

Quote There are a few potential issues that might be causing this problem: Spark Plugs and Wires: Worn or fouled spark plugs and ignition wires can cause intermittent power loss. It's worth checking and replacing them if necessary. Fuel Injectors: Dirty or clogged fuel injectors can restrict fuel flow, leading to power loss. A fuel injector cleaner might help. Exhaust System: A blocked EGR valve or a collapsed catalytic converter can cause power loss. Inspect these components for any obstructions. ECU Issues: Sometimes, the ECU (Engine Control Unit) can develop issues, such as leaking capacitors, which can cause intermittent problems. This might require professional diagnosis and repair. Vacuum Leaks: Check for any vacuum leaks, as they can affect the air-fuel mixture and cause power loss. Battery and Alternator: Ensure your battery and alternator are functioning properly, as electrical issues can also lead to power loss. Since the issue seems to be intermittent and happens both when the engine is cold and warm, it might be a good idea to have a professional mechanic run a diagnostic test to pinpoint the exact cause.
