Jon Gardner Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Hi, I'm tiring of my excellent 2013 GS350AWD and debating whether to do the "grown up" thing and get an LS or do the "52-year-old kid" thing and get an LC. Right now, the dream is an LC that is low mileage and several years old. I'd kick it up a notch and build what Lexus neglected to build: an LC F. My research indicates that improving airflow (cold air intake, headers, exhaust, ...) and going to coil overs and performance sway bars will transform the LC from amazing to near supercar. I'm seeing very little of this sort of modification. Is anyone doing it? Where can I read or watch a review? Why would I do this? For the same reason people climb mountains...
LC5hundo Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Intake, headers, and exhaust MIGHT, in a perfect world, get you 40 horsepower. You'd also need a tune. Perhaps noticeable, but probably not the jump you're looking for. And frankly, the stock exhaust is so good that messing with it seems inadvisable. What would actually make the LC into a "near supercar", in my opinion, are the following: 1. Shed 300+ pounds. that means: A) lightweight battery. B) forged wheels. C) crank pulley damper. D) interior sound deadening removal. E) rear seat delete. and F) new lightweight exhaust if you're really set on it. 2. Minimum 305 section rear tires. So look for 20x11 forged wheels ideally. With all this, you should be able to consistently hit 60 in 3.8 or so seconds. But again, speed is meaningless when you can buy a Model S Plaid for 40k used :). The LC500 is way more special than that! Best of luck to you.
