It sounds like your Lexus ES300 might have an issue with the Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) or Idle Speed Control Valve (ISC). This valve regulates the engine's idle speed by controlling the amount of air that bypasses the throttle plate. When it gets dirty or malfunctions, it can cause rough idling or stalling.

Here are a few steps you can take to address the issue:

  1. Check the IACV/ISC: Locate the valve and inspect it for any signs of dirt or carbon buildup. Cleaning it might help improve the idle speed.

  2. Inspect for Vacuum Leaks: A vacuum leak can also cause idling problems. Check all vacuum hoses and connections for any leaks.

  3. Check the Throttle Body: Ensure the throttle body is clean and functioning properly. A dirty throttle body can affect idle speed.

  4. Consult a Mechanic: If you're not comfortable doing these checks yourself, it might be best to take your car to a professional mechanic for a thorough inspection.
