Darcman__33 Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Alright, so heres the thing. I recently bought a 96 ls400 and the owner only had one key and no remote. I have another ls400 that i had an accident in and i kept it for the parts, and that one i have all the keys (master, valet, emergency and remote). Is it possible for me to change all the barrels to make my driveable LS have all the key and with the factory remote working? Thanks!
Jeremy M. Posted January 15 Posted January 15 You can change all the locks cylinders (door locks, ignition switch, trunk latch, and don't forget the trunk/fuel lid lockout!) However, you'd need to also swap the immobilizer BCM, and possibly ECM to have the car start, and have it operate the locks with the remote. It's probably a better use of your time and money to get a new key made and programmed for a spare, and keep the locks as-is.
