rsell
I have a "new to me" 2017 RX350 F Sport. Everything so far so good until the other day I started the car and as I began driving I noticed the map was showing me over on the coast, about 40+ miles away. I have tried setting the destination to home, marking my home as a reference point and anything else I could think of but it still wants to start me out in Melbourne, FL for some reason. I cannot figure out how to get it back to my current location. Is there a reset or something I am missing in the Nav or Set up screens. Thanks for any help and have a GREAT day. Quote Copilot Navigation System Reset: Confirm that your navigation system is rebooting when you turn on the ignition. To perform a reset, follow these steps: Disconnect the negative terminal of your vehicle’s 12-volt battery. Wait for about 30 seconds. Reconnect the negative terminal. Confirm if the multimedia system operates correctly after it reloads. Map Updates: Sometimes outdated maps can lead to incorrect positioning. Consider updating your navigation maps: Map updates have become quite affordable. You can check for updates on the Lexus Navigation website. While updating maps won’t instantly display new roads (that can take time), it should improve overall accuracy, especially for points of interest (POIs). Firmware Update: Firmware updates are separate from map data but can enhance system functionality. Dealerships can perform these updates. Here’s how it works: The vehicle’s battery must be in good condition. A special charger stabilizes voltage during reprogramming. New firmware is inspected and upgraded if necessary. Then, using a special hard drive and tech stream, the map data is loaded into the system. Remember, if these steps don’t resolve the issue, it might be best to consult a mechanic or visit your Lexus dealership for further assistance. Safe travels!
