George B Posted May 8 Posted May 8 I just bought a 2008 SC 430 with about 130,000 miles. The dash fan is noisy, too noisy to be normal and I can't figure out why. Doesn't matter if the AC or heat are on or off, something is going on in the dash making noise. almost sounds like gurgling water. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem?
RX400h Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Quote The noise you’re hearing from the dash of your 2008 Lexus SC 430 could be due to a few different issues. Here are some possibilities: Fan Motor: The fan motor itself could be faulty or worn out, causing the noise. This could happen regardless of whether the AC or heat is on. Servo Motors: There could be an issue with the servo motors that control the movement of air within the system. If these motors are faulty, they could create a noise. Loose Components: Sometimes, loose components in the dashboard can vibrate and cause noise. This could be anything from screws to plastic parts. Air in the System: The gurgling sound you mentioned could potentially be air trapped in the cooling system. This is less likely, but still a possibility. Bad Connector Connection: There was a case where a Lexus SC 430 owner found a bad connector connection on the back of the AC control unit that was causing a static or gurgling sound. 1
