ThisJustIn04 Posted November 4, 2004 Share Posted November 4, 2004 I have a 96 ES 300 and my power steering belt is very loose and so i am making noises that i have seen described on this forum.. what i have not seen is advice on how to tighten that belt.. or replace it which is likely the route i will take.. and advice will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance for any help. ArmyofOne Posted November 5, 2004 Share Posted November 5, 2004 DONT do it yourself, its too much trouble for a DIYer IMO...PITA to get at. your local shop shouldnt charge you more than $90 with the belt. labor in my area was $62.40. ThisJustIn04 Posted November 6, 2004 Author Share Posted November 6, 2004 thanks, and i came to that decision earlier today.. got it changed for $60.00 i supplied the belt which cost me $10.00 the trouble was worse than i thought.. the top bolt on the pump had backed out.. thanks again for your response.
