pierce1 Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 My shocks are shot, I am planning on replacing them, also the strut cushioning. I would like to have the same smooth ride of the originial factory shocks. Can anyone recommend what brand/type I should use. Also if I should replace any other suspension parts. My 92 ls 400 has just turned to 99,000 miles. Pat
92Lex Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 If you want OEM ride quality then the sure thing to do is to stick with OEM shocks/struts. If you are going to replace the shocks/struts then you might as well replace the control arm bushings.
90LS400Lexus Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 92Lex gave good advice. You want a "factory" like ride- stick with factory struts. The struts for my 90 LS (standard suspension) were $52.00 each for the rear and $49.00 each for the front from the Lexus dealer for my car. I never had the fronts changed, but the rears were done. Had a much smoother ride after installations. Good luck.

I save $40 on labor over dealer rate and use OEM parts by taking my 92 LS to Big O Tires here in Northern California. Hope this helps.
