jad Posted October 19, 2004 Posted October 19, 2004 Hi. I've noticed that my RX300 generates tire screech when cornering at pretty low speeds. I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this, or is it my driving?!
RX in NC Posted October 19, 2004 Posted October 19, 2004 Either your tires need substantial air or you need to seriously think about slowing down. Have you checked your tire pressure this decade?
SW03ES Posted October 19, 2004 Posted October 19, 2004 My new Toyos squeal really bad at low speeds, especially in parking garages. I think it has a lot to do with the brand of the tire, some squeal more than others.
tds Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 My RX300 had tire squeal so I checked the tire pressure. Both front tires were 24psi and both backs were 30 psi (I have no idea how this happened). Once I pumped up the front tires to 30 psi, all the tire squeal is gone.
bartkat Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 Most tires will squeal in parking garages. The concrete is smooth, sealed and polished. Miy fronts will squeal if I turn hard in my garage at home, for the same reason. If your tires are squealing on streets under normal driving, then you have a problem. Most likely low tire pressure as mentioned in the above posts.
wwest Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 Failing CV joints give early indications at lower speeds during "hard" turning. "Hard" turns are almost never made at higher speeds.
