LexusChicago
Hello all, I just had my oil changed on my my 93' GS300 with 193,000 miles. The car takes about 5.2 quarts. My mechanic told me that I had about 4 quarts left when he changed the oil. He noticed that oil is leaking about the engine block. Could it be the head gasket? Has anyone had this job done on their car? What was the cost? I am assuming this is an expensive job at a dealership. Thanks in advance. TWINTURBO619
well for one, you don't want oil leaking from your head gasket... that would mean you have a blown head gasket and your car would be overheating. so it couldn't be that. you should steam clean your engine from top to bottom and then look for possible leaks. if you don't find any leaks, then your car is burning a lot of oil. so check that out first. nismO to TRD
it might just be ur valve cover gasket... i did the job on my 1st gen and it's not "fun". u have to remove ur intake manifold and throttle body...if it's ur first time messing with vacum hoses i suggest u mark them with tape.
