awww damn

mcv

you have a broken cv joint

it is a pin to change also

i am guessing you have a damged boot which contaminated the grease in the boot wearing out the cv( constant velocity joint)

it goes from the tranny to the wheel hubs and flexes with the suspension

www.toyotanation.com

has some repair tips

skp, is that grand US or Canada?

reman. half shafts (with packed CVs) can be had for less than a buck 50 ($150.00 US) from autozone, lappens, napa, etc.

This can be a DIY in your driveway if you know what your doing or know someone who knows what they are doing.

My dad and I did the one on my SSEi last year.

Now if you plan to take it to the dealer, then figure $500 US but insist on a reman......its way cheaper.

MCV20, good luck.

I have a 95 ES and had the same clicking noise around corners, particularly as I accellerated. I went to about 5 front end "specialists" and none could diagnose the problem. Finally went to good general mechanic and he determined that it was one of the front axles. Total cost to replace was about $225. Problem solved. :D

I am experiencing the same thing on my 2000 es 300. When I am turning (full turn), I hear a clicking or scraping noise. Any help on this would be appreciated. thanks.

Contact " Raxles" . They sell re-man half shafts with new cv joints with a lifetime guarantee for about $100 US. Stay away from ANY remans whom use the old cv joint.
