moocowman Posted June 4, 2002 Posted June 4, 2002 The assembly is held in with clips, no screws. Open the ash tray. Pull hard. You may need to pull one side out at a time. You usually do not need to pry open with anything. But if prying is required, use a cloth to protect any surfaces that may come in contact with the tool in protect from scratching. That's my highly technical contribution. Can anyone beat that?
Larry M Posted August 22, 2002 Posted August 22, 2002 Hi Thanks for the tip. I would have never, ever figured that out. I am considering installing a satellite radio and looking for a place to put it. Larry
Tom_ES300 Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 This has changed on the 200 ES300: The ashtray is now 2 clips on the top corners and 2 screws on the bottom corners. The screws are hidden by the shifter deck. the deck pops out with 4 clips. The ashtray frame can be reused to mount stuff; there's loads of room here. It is not a DIN slot, it's smaller. Tom
