okcorrell Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Hello all, I have a 10 speaker system that I plan to add an aftermarket amp and some aftermarket speakers and subwoofer. The question is if I should power all speakers with the amp with less wattage (75 watts) or bridge the amp for more power and only run the fronts (200 watts) off the aftermarket amp and keep the rears on OEM amp power. The RMS on the Morels is 100 watts (fronts), but I hear they are power hungry… LMK your thoughts! AMP: XD700 Run as 3 channel: 200W x 2 fronts and 180W sub Run as 5 channel: 75W x 4 and 180W sub Fronts: Morel Maximo Ultra 603A MKII, 3 way component (100 watts RMS) Rears: Morel Maximo Coax 6 (80 watts RMS)
Lexus-CT Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 If you can balance rear and front I would say that the more speakers you have sounding the better soundstage you will get. Have the Mark Levinson in car and can decide if having all power front (or rear), but find that best sound is when all speakers are playing.
