PaulES300 Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 Hello, I'm new to the forum and had a question regarding the quality of the "BULLDOG SECURITY" remote starter. This was given to me as a gift a couple of years ago but I never installed it. It states that it is the world's #1 remote starter but it looks like one of the cheaper brands. Has anyone tried this brand? I did a search and several people recommended using Viper or something a little more expensive if possible. Any info would be helpful! By the way, I have a 1996 ES300. Thanks! Paul Snyder
SKperformance Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 bulldog may be made by a #1 volume maker as it or a similar brand is sold at walmart. They used to be sold their not sure if tehy stlll are for about $30 the others were right get a better unit and give it as a gift to someone else , it is the gift that keeps on giving
PaulES300 Posted August 29, 2004 Author Posted August 29, 2004 Thanks for the advice! Yes, I will "pass" it along and purchase something better. By the way, your headlights are awesome!
SKperformance Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 Everything on my car is hand made by me withabout 14 hours of work on them, check my garage it is the link in my sig
bdonkersgoed Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 I had a BULLDOG SECURITY car alarm back about five years ago, and that thing was junk. If the remote starter is anything like their alarms, then I suggest it isn't even worth your time installing . . . Regards, Bryan
PaulES300 Posted August 31, 2004 Author Posted August 31, 2004 In that case, I probably won't even give it away. I wouldn't want to screw anybody else's car up.
PaulES300 Posted August 31, 2004 Author Posted August 31, 2004 Yeah, that's what my wife suggested also. But I wouldn't feel good about it if it screwed up somebody's car.
SKperformance Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 Hey that is what ebay is for they can research it and decide if tehy want to install it or not
bdonkersgoed Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 I doubt that it will screw up there car. It probably will just have like no range and be unreliable. I wouldn't worry about selling it on Ebay. You'll probably only get like $5-10 for it anyways :P Regards, Bryan
PaulES300 Posted September 1, 2004 Author Posted September 1, 2004 Exactly. Unless I sold in large volumes on Ebay there would be no reason to pay fees on a $10 sale. Not to mention the hassle of shipping the product. If I ever have a garage sale I'll try to sell it there.
