kstyle55 Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Hey guys I have been viewing this forum for quite some time and love all the great info that has been put day in and day out. I am in the proccess of buying my first Lex. I am getting a 95 GS 300 and man is it mint. I just wanted to know what is the widest I can go in the back with out any rubbing issues and the offsets that I have been reading so much about what would be the best. For rim size I was thinking 19-20" rims staggered. I do plan on doing the aristo conversion with the 2JZgtte thats why I want them to be as wide as possible for the better traction. Any info would be appreciated
kstyle55 Posted August 31, 2004 Author Posted August 31, 2004 So there is no one in this forum that can answer this question? <_<
Neo Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 Sorry. I would but I don't know specifics about the 1st gen GS to give you qualified help. (I have a 2nd gen.) I have heard though that the 1st gen is more accomodating for larger wheels than the 2nd gens. With that said, many 2nd gen owners run 8.5 fronts and 9.5 or 10.0 rears. I have seen some with 9.0 fronts and on occasion 10.5 rears. I know of 2 people planning to run 11.0 rears but there is quite a bit of customization of the car and wheels to accomodate this. Offsets will depend on which width. Hopefully, this will give you a start and extrapolate the info for your 1st gen. Maybe some 1st gen owners can chime in. Good luck.
kstyle55 Posted September 1, 2004 Author Posted September 1, 2004 thanks Neo I appreciate the input but I dont think I want to go any wider then 10" that is more then enough I just wish I knew what kind of offsets to use for that wide of a wheel
