Lx 470 Exhaust Heat Shield Noise

Just had the truck in for an oil change and dealer informed me of cracks in the heat shield of the catalytic converters. The cracks cause a vibe at mid range rpm. The service rep stated I should get them welded at a muffler shop.

Anyone have this procedure done? Did it work?

probably worth a try. they will probably want to replace the catalytic converter otherwise. I had a vw w/same issue and garage charged me $19 to remove it from the bottom side. Otherwise $500 to replace the converter (and that was a vw).
