Towing performance - 2012 gx460

I would love to hear your experiences towing with the gx460.

Mine is a full stock 2012 gx460 non premium model so no fancy air suspension. Highway all season tires.
I tow a smaller off-road camper , dry weight is 2800 and typical weight when towing was about 3000lbs. Tongue weight is about 350-375lbs
what I have noticed as far

1. Towing at about 70 MPH gets me 9-10MPG depending on the wind and slope.

2. It squats at least 2 inches with the trailer hooked up. I might look into getting helper bags in the future to help with sag.
3. Struggling to downshift early during uphills until it’s a bit late and I have to almost put my foot down to get it to downshift. I drove a couple of brand new gx460s and they weren’t to keep to downshift on the hills even with out pulling a trailer behind. So I am not sure if this is a problem across the platform.  I know this isn’t a diesel when it comes to low end torque. It makes peak torque at about 3500rpms but is never ever to shift down to stay in the band to tap into that power.
