Car Strugles To Idle Wants To Die?

Recommended Posts

Just changed the head gaskets and put everything back together and now the car idles at 500 rpms and then drops down to 200 rpm. I'm pretty sure I put everything back together right but am a little concerned about the timing. If the timings of even a little would that be the cause? If not what else could it possibly be?

Did you remember to reconnect the PCV valve to it's vacuum hose? I forgot to do this when I did head gaskets and I got the same result. If not that, I doubt it would be your timing if the car runs at all. I dunno though, guess it could be...
