brunsje Posted July 31, 2004 Posted July 31, 2004 My less than 1 month old 2004 LS430 requires me cleaning the interior glass about every 5 days. It is building up a 'light fog' on all windows. It is not colored like cigarette smokers car windows (brown). I assume it is the interior leather, vinyl, and plastic parts 'off-gassing'. Have other owners experienced this same problem? R/John

R/John I just took delivery of mine on 6/26 and recently cleaned the windows. They all had a light film, especially the rear window. It's only been a couple of days since I cleaned them, so I have not noticed any buildup yet. Mike
wwest Posted July 31, 2004 Posted July 31, 2004 Lexus has again started coating the A/C evaporator with a fungicide to help prevent the horrid dirty gym socks odor resulting from the out-gassing and "leavings" of family of microbes that contitute mould and mildew. The 10,000 sq inches of evaporator surface area is coated with a porus nylon film into which is embedded an anti-microbial chemical. Over time the chemical will leach from the pores and thereby flow into the cabin atmosphere. Next, once the chemical has mostly leached away, you will have a very good sponge to hold mositure for fogging over your windshield on cool or cold mornings.
