RonW Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 I have a '93 & '00 SC300. My '93 is much more responsive and aggressive with transmission downshifts and I am wondering if this is due to the programming in the '93 ECM. Would like to swap ECM's to see. Does anyone know if they are compatible?
RonW Posted July 24, 2004 Author Posted July 24, 2004 Thnx for reply I did cobfirm with dealer and you are correct they are not interchangeable. Still trying to understand how downshifts on my 2000 sc300 automatic can be made more agressive as they are on my 1993 sc300???
jzz30 Posted July 25, 2004 Posted July 25, 2004 you can manualy down it just move it through the shifter gate.
RonW Posted July 25, 2004 Author Posted July 25, 2004 Yes I am aware of the ability to manual downshift, but my '93 does not require manual downshifting, it does a great job on its own. I can get my 2000 to downshift more agresively it just requires more gas pedal, trying to understand why they shift so differently, seems like there must be some way to adjust this. I have had other cars in the past (Chevy) that are very easy to make these adjustments through the transmission linkage.
Lex Luthor Posted July 25, 2004 Posted July 25, 2004 There is no throttle valve cable to adjust on the '00 as i'm sure that's what you're referring to on the Chevy. It's controlled electronically and uses drive by wire.
llama Posted July 31, 2004 Posted July 31, 2004 RonW, Try this link: web.ace.net.au/soarer/ecu_reset.html
RonW Posted July 31, 2004 Author Posted July 31, 2004 HAMA--Thnx, that was a great link-I reset my ECU and now shifts much better. Thanks again.
