rps2000
I bought a 96 ES300 w/ 119,000 miles 2 months ago - a super clean car. In checking the car's history, I called the Lexus Service manager who had previously serviced the car. He said that the CEL display recently showed "shift cylanoid malfunction" and to monitor it. I got a couple of CELs, but they went away when I filled the gas tank. I'm unsophisticated mechanically. How significant is this? What's the worst case scenario? SKperformance
It all depends on what the cel code is unkown to how bad it could be it is probably the egr which is a common on and off cel problem.
