Hi,

I have been getting this check enging light for over a year along with the TRAC light. The TRAC does not turn off. The TRAC button does not work either.

However, a couple of months ago, TRAC came back to life briefly for one day :P , with the TRAC light turned off and the button working, and then it went bad again  .

At what occasions do I get the CHECK ENGING light? Could the TRAC problem cause the CHECK ENGING light on?

Could this be oxigen sensor problem?

Other than the lights on the console, I do not notice much abnormal behavior or performance downgrade of my car.

Please advise.

Thanks,

It's simple. PM me your e-mail and I'll send you the simplified procedure. You should always at least check the code to find out what it is. Others have the same issues but I forget what the cause and cure is.

find some one with an obd1 scanner this will solve your problems

You need a OBDII (that's Onboard diagnostic version 2) scanner to get the code.

Hey AWJ is there another way to get the code ???

Do the mechanic shops usually have the code reader?

The place I visited last time didn't have it for model year 95.

Would Firestone have the scanner?

Thanks,
