Rx 300 60,000 Mile Service

Hi all,

Can someone tell me what exactly is needed for the 60k miles check up? I was told they will need to do the following:

- Flush engine, coolant, brake fluid, etc.

- Replace engine filter

- Replace air filter

- Rotate tires

- Oil Change

I was also told I will probably need my brakes replaced and maybe even the rotors. I have 55,000 miles on my car now.

He said all this would run around $600 when it came time for the 60k mile service.

Is there anything else anyone would recommend I get serviced?

The reason I am asking is because I can get all this done for much cheaper. I just want to make sure I am covering all my bases in terms of getting all the right things serviced.

Thanks so much!

Jeez...I hope the $600 covers a COMPLETE brake job for all 4 sides, as well as the other things you have listed there. If not, maybe I should look at buying a Ford Escape instead of looking for an RX300!

We have a member that just paid $1300 for just a REAR brake job on his ES300. And the V8 Lexus' cost even more to maintain. The dealers are very expensive. $600 is a good price for the 60k from Lexus.

BUT, you dont have to have them serviced at the dealer...

My Lexus is certified.

If I don't service at the dealer, does that void the certification in any way?

Thanks

Anyone know if having someone else do the maintenance work will void the certification?

Thanks

No, as long as you keep the reciepts the warranty is 100% valid no matter where the vehicle is serviced.
