  2. Did this just happen all of a sudden ? No previous lights on the dash ?
  3. Thanks for confirming that there isn't any set tightening order. I just did a crisscross pattern with gradual tightening all around. I do want to note that the torque specs on that website are not accurate. Haynes 3MZ-FE manual shows 71 in-lbs for the both front and rear valve covers. Moreover, there was another gentleman who commented on a youtube video that he noted that the Toyota's 3MZ-FE shop manual showed 71 in-lbs also (however, I can only personally attest to the Haynes Manual which I own). In that DIY youtube video, the mechanic relied on the website you suggested and overtorqued the valve cover bolts to 9 ft-lbs (108 in-lbs), causing one of this bolts to break! So, I would highly suggest following more reputable sources like Toyota/Lexus service manuals and Chilton/Haynes Manuals.
  4. The torque specification for the valve cover bolts on a 2004 Lexus RX330 is 9 ft-lbs. However, I couldn鈥檛 find the specific tightening order for the rear valve cover bolts in my current resources. You may be able to find an online service manual that should include what you are looking for.

  6. So I just bought myself a 2005 LS430 after a few years of searching. I've had it a little over a month and I absolutely love it. However, over the last couple days, I've noticed my tail lights coming on for seemingly no reason. First time I noticed, I thought it was just a trick of the light, as the sun was getting low and figured it was just the sun hitting my lights just right to give the illusion of them being on. Fast forward to this morning; I had to leave earlier than usual for work, so around 4:45am, came out my front door, and low and behold, clear as day, my tail lights are on (not brake lights, just tail lights, and literally nothing else). My first thought was "uh oh, did I leave my lights on all night?" Which I was all but certain I hadn't. After confirming they were in fact off, next thing I checked was my brake pedal. Didn't seem anything out of the ordinary, but just to see, I tried gently lifting it off it's rest point, to no result. Kicker was that, unbeknownst to me at that moment, as soon as I hit my keyless entry, lights immediately went off. Upon discovering the lights were off, I went to work like normal. Fast forward another hour or so, I get a message from a co-worker saying my tail lights are on. So now I know there's clearly an issue. After a quick search online, I couldn't find much, but I did find something about a possible ECU in the trunk, or 'luggage room' as was described on the website. When I returned to my car after my delivery, the tail lights were on again. So I decided to test something; I hit the unlock on my keyless entry, and then waited. As soon as I hit the button, lights went off. Then, after around 30 seconds, they came back on. Then tried the lock button, same result. So fast forward again to the end of my work day: I go run some errands real quick and head home. When I got home, my first instinct was to pop the truck to make sure no water was getting into places it shouldn't, and thankfully found no evidence of that. But the lights would still come on after about 30 seconds of hitting a button on my keyless entry. Now for the real interesting part: after feeling stumped, I popped the hood, as I was going to disconnect the battery to make sure it wouldn't drain, I had to run inside to grab my tools, so I closed the hood, ran in, and when I got back, the lights were off, and staying off. I've been home for about 45 minutes now, and keep checking regularly, and they haven't come back on yet (knock on wood). Any ideas as to what the issue could be? I've seen potential for it to be something as minor as a fuse to as major as a wiring harness. Any suggestions or ideas would be a hug help, thanks!
  7. Have a 2004 RX330. What is the Torque/Tightening Order for the (9) Rear Valve Cover bolts? Any schematic out there?
  8. Report this to NHTSA as a safety and security issue. Lexus not sharing all the info, campaign is no longer listed on the app. I think they are trying to stuff the digital key down our throats, glitchy and unsafe as it is. Its all about profit.......
  9. My GX470 had the following Codes come on this morning. Flashing check engine, The VSC, TRAC, or trailer sway control system is operating if the slip indicator light is flashing. If the indicator light is fully illuminated there is a malfunction in the VSC system, TRAC system, hill-start assist control system, or trailer sway control, and you should have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus service provider immediately. This warning light indicates a malfunction in the electronic engine control system, the electronic throttle control system, or the electronic automatic transmission control system. Whenever this light turns on you should have your vehicle inspected immediately by your Lexus dealer. What does this mean? Enter You sent
  10. I have a 2024 NX350H and I haven't noticed undue pressure needed. It does have to be pressed a fair bit -- probably much more than what it takes for the brake lights. Have you done a distance measure of the brake pedal to see the difference between brake lights and shifting? I'll have to check mine.
  11. Thanks for that, I spoke to a Lexus service dept. and he stated that it's normal to firmly depress the brakes to shift into a drive mode, really annoying but I'll have to get use to it. The pre fly by wire system is so much better and user friendly.
  12. I am really interested in great car audio. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to set the treble, bass and midrange as well as how to balance the speakers to get the best sound from the driver's seat?

  14. Looks fantastic. You must have some fab chops 馃憦
  15. What are the Possible Causes of the DTC P1127 Lexus? NOTE: The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes. Faulty Electronic Throttle Control System (ETCS) Actuator Electronic Throttle Control System (ETCS) Actuator harness is open or shorted Electronic Throttle Control System (ETCS) Actuator circuit poor electrical connection Read more: https://www.autocodes.com/p1127_lexus.html It may be that locating the specific cause is not exactly simple for the doityourselfer.
  16. The brake lights work with light pressure, it's the excessive brake pressure in my opinion, perhaps others may not see it as being excessive but I'm used to the old mechanical linkage shifters and not the computerized shift by wire in the new NX350, perhaps it's normal but annoying non the less.
  17. Report to NHTSA as a safety and security concern. Digital key is not the answer - just more revenue/profit for Lexus ar our expense.
  18. My neighbor is selling his 2004 Gx for 3K. It has 265k miles on it. He has not replaced the timing belt, water pump. Only done simple oil changes. Do you think its worth buying it for 3K?
  19. Sounds like might be a brake light switch that needs adjusting. Do you brake lights also wait until you press hard to come on?
  20. How did you fix your p1127 code issue? I'm having this problem now 馃槙
  21. Hi, Just bought a '23 NX350 and the shifting into Reverse or Drive has me wondering if I made a wise purchase, does anyone know why one has to step on the brakes so hard to shift into R or D or is there an option on the infotainment display to lessen the brake pressure to release the shifter interlock? Thanks much for any info on this "issue"
  22. Since Lexus has made it's customer service form so cumbersome, I have reported the key fob issue to NHTSA. On the Lexus app, the 2nd Key Program Campaign is not even listed (23LJ01). The dealership cannot provide a clear answer on when this will be fixed. For my wife and me, both 70 years young (I am a disabled Army veteran), this is a potential safety and security concern.
  23. Hi I am new to this group i own two Lexus 2014 RX350 and recently purchased 2021 NX350AWD and having problem with my 2021 NX350 rearview camera try to get the problem solve with Lexus in past 4 months and still have no clear answer from Lexus if they are going to fix it. Rearview camera is defected not functioning when put on reverse and screen is blank which is part of Lexus safety future when backup i don't know where to turn after four months try to get it fix but Lexus keep telling that camera part 67B0F6021 Camera Assy is in back order and every time i call they keep saying that still backorder but continue promising new ETA of the camera, if anyone can direct me to better way to get Lexus attention and looking to my issued i greatly appreciate the reply and input.
