  3. Hi, Just bought a '23 NX350 and the shifting into Reverse or Drive has me wondering if I made a wise purchase, does anyone know why one has to step on the brakes so hard to shift into R or D or is there an option on the infotainment display to lessen the brake pressure to release the shifter interlock? Thanks much for any info on this "issue"
  4. Since Lexus has made it's customer service form so cumbersome, I have reported the key fob issue to NHTSA. On the Lexus app, the 2nd Key Program Campaign is not even listed (23LJ01). The dealership cannot provide a clear answer on when this will be fixed. For my wife and me, both 70 years young (I am a disabled Army veteran), this is a potential safety and security concern.

  9. It's not a transmission problem that is causing this to happen. I researched this issue and figured out what the issue was. The problem is the E.C.M.. There was an extended warranty on this part because of this known Lexus issue (10 years after the factory). My car was older, so I had my E.C.M. repaired. I had it removed and then sent to a shop in TX. After all my research, I found this company to be most reputable, and they did a great job. There may be a company close to you that can do this. If not, message me and I'll give you the info on the company I used.
  10. 12. 13. I have a 2014 gs350 fsport, rwd & am replacing all 4 pads & rotors & was looking for a recommendation. I've done tons of research on Amazon, eBay, forums, etc. im getting mildly overwhelmed w all the did things I've read.
  14. It looks like this sound was not present when you bought the vehicle? Is your RX still under warranty? If there is a Toyota-equivalent vehicle, then typically the service cost would be less expensive than at a Lexus dealership. I've had our spark plugs and coolant changed at our local Toyota dealership. Its reduction in cost for the maintenance tasks were significant.
  15. I bought my SC400 about 4 days ago. When I bought it, it was starting good and running pretty well for a 1993. Only 150k Miles on her. In between that time the car alarm did go off when I was trying to unlock her, so it made me think about anti-theft. So When I try to start it the light cluster turns on, just no crank, No start. at first I thought it was the starter so I tested it by jumping the starter relay, but no when I have the key in on and jump the starter relay she starts right up and runs pretty well. She is kinda sluggish. Which is a whole other thing. Just need some opinions.
  16. Hello, I apologize if this issue has already been addressed. I own a 2020 RX 450h F-sport and recently noticed a louder/higher pitched sound than usual when accelerating quickly up to ~40mph. It's the type of sound you would expect to hear when you drive this thing up a hill at a faster speed. From the stop position up to cruising if I press the gas slowly it does not create this sound, but any hard or quick push does until it come up to cruising speed. I've previously owned multiple RXs, a RX 350 and RX350h and never had this issue. This is my first F-sport...is this normal for this particular model? In addition to this, does anyone know if the Toyota dealership will service a Lexus at a lower cost than what the Lexus dealership charges? Thankyou in advance for your help!
  17. I cannot locate the brake booster check valve in my 2008 Lexus ES 350. I brake is very hard to press and I’m trying to troubleshoot whether it is the check valve that is bad or the brake booster itself. I manually try to vacuum on the brake booster, but it did not work however, when I turn the car on the brake perfectly works fine. The only issue I’m facing is that the break is very hard to press as soon as I turn the car off. Which tells me that the vacuum is leaking somewhere. I just want to eliminate the check valve, but cannot locate it anywhere. Normally it’s located on the vacuum hose that goes from the intake manifold to the brake booster but on this car, there is no check valve on that pipe and I did check that vacuum pipe which has no leaks. Seems like it is a pretty common problem on this car, but I have not seen any issues on YouTube or anywhere. Please share what you found on yours.
  18. 02 ES300. 200k. I offered to fix my elderly neighbors car after he accidently "bumped" into a wall at the gas station. It looked like he'd need a bumper cover and a hood. No airbags deployed. Different story in the daytime. But I got it all patched up but the engine revving, heres what I replaced: condenser, maf sensor, vacuum switch valve, air filter, a couple of vacum lines that were cracked. I do have a left over line thats about 5-6' long that initially wasnt connected to anything, the lines from the insulator are accounted for along with the rest of them.Any suggestions before I go get a pricey iac valve? No codes
  19. I've owned 6 different Lexus vehicles since 1989, and never had a problem until now. The recall letter from Lexus says my 2021 RX450H is recalled because of a faulty passenger seat airbag sensor. It states not to have anyone in the passenger seat until it can be repaired. Obviously, this is to make sure Lexus has no liability it the sensor fails, as well has preventing injury to the passenger. This significantly limits the use of my car for several reasons. I called Lexus' service department where I purchased the car, and they have no clue when a fix will be available, and it's been over 2 1/2 months. In the meantime, I'm limited to taking only 2 passengers in my car, which means that for group outings we will need a second car, increasing gas costs and parking fees. Second car is a two-seater! Has anyone heard when Lexus will have a fix available?
  20. Hello all, even though that is an old topic ( sulfur smell inside the vehicle), I would like to know whether a solution has been found by any of you. I found the leak on both sides of the center console ( between the front seats), and Im sure of it because there are white residue prints on both side of the plastic side cover and the carpet under it smell the same. In my case, I dont drive above 2000rpm, and mostly is noticeable when I park the vehicle for some time and close the windows. What is strange is that no smell is present when you stat next to the vehicle, but once you open the door, it is hitting you in the nose directly. Thanks in advance!
  21. Thanks. I replaced the battery and the charge was covered by Lexus, although I have been unable to confirm if the battery was bad (long story). In the final analysis, either the battery was bad or the charging mechanism (alternator or otherwise) wasn't working. If the former is the case, then the problem has been solved (hopefully). If the latter, either that is a significant engineering defect or I need some direction on how to keep the 12 V charged. The question is whether the 12 v battery charges while the car is on EV mode. If the 12 V runs down after every few hundred miles, then that is not sustainable and if there is something in my driving habits (such as operating almost exclusively on EV mode) that needs to change, it would be useful to know. In the meantime, I am getting jumper cables. Until this happened, I had no idea that these were necessary for a PHEV.
  22. Hi. I’m having the same issue. Did you ever figure out what harness is needed?
  23. Hello I was wondering did you find out what that part was broken in your vehicle because my daughter have the same situation?
