  2. Thanks for confirming that there isn't any set tightening order. I just did a crisscross pattern with gradual tightening all around. I do want to note that the torque specs on that website are not accurate. Haynes 3MZ-FE manual shows 71 in-lbs for the both front and rear valve covers. Moreover, there was another gentleman who commented on a youtube video that he noted that the Toyota's 3MZ-FE shop manual showed 71 in-lbs also (however, I can only personally attest to the Haynes Manual which I own). In that DIY youtube video, the mechanic relied on the website you suggested and overtorqued the valve cover bolts to 9 ft-lbs (108 in-lbs), causing one of this bolts to break! So, I would highly suggest following more reputable sources like Toyota/Lexus service manuals and Chilton/Haynes Manuals.

  5. Report this to NHTSA as a safety and security issue. Lexus not sharing all the info, campaign is no longer listed on the app. I think they are trying to stuff the digital key down our throats, glitchy and unsafe as it is. Its all about profit.......
  6. My GX470 had the following Codes come on this morning. Flashing check engine, The VSC, TRAC, or trailer sway control system is operating if the slip indicator light is flashing. If the indicator light is fully illuminated there is a malfunction in the VSC system, TRAC system, hill-start assist control system, or trailer sway control, and you should have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus service provider immediately. This warning light indicates a malfunction in the electronic engine control system, the electronic throttle control system, or the electronic automatic transmission control system. Whenever this light turns on you should have your vehicle inspected immediately by your Lexus dealer. What does this mean? Enter You sent
  7. I have a 2024 NX350H and I haven't noticed undue pressure needed. It does have to be pressed a fair bit -- probably much more than what it takes for the brake lights. Have you done a distance measure of the brake pedal to see the difference between brake lights and shifting? I'll have to check mine.
  8. I am really interested in great car audio. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to set the treble, bass and midrange as well as how to balance the speakers to get the best sound from the driver's seat?

  11. What are the Possible Causes of the DTC P1127 Lexus? NOTE: The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes. Faulty Electronic Throttle Control System (ETCS) Actuator Electronic Throttle Control System (ETCS) Actuator harness is open or shorted Electronic Throttle Control System (ETCS) Actuator circuit poor electrical connection Read more: https://www.autocodes.com/p1127_lexus.html It may be that locating the specific cause is not exactly simple for the doityourselfer.
  12. Report to NHTSA as a safety and security concern. Digital key is not the answer - just more revenue/profit for Lexus ar our expense.

  16. I have a 2014 gs350 fsport, rwd & am replacing all 4 pads & rotors & was looking for a recommendation. I've done tons of research on Amazon, eBay, forums, etc. im getting mildly overwhelmed w all the did things I've read.
  17. It looks like this sound was not present when you bought the vehicle? Is your RX still under warranty? If there is a Toyota-equivalent vehicle, then typically the service cost would be less expensive than at a Lexus dealership. I've had our spark plugs and coolant changed at our local Toyota dealership. Its reduction in cost for the maintenance tasks were significant.
  18. I bought my SC400 about 4 days ago. When I bought it, it was starting good and running pretty well for a 1993. Only 150k Miles on her. In between that time the car alarm did go off when I was trying to unlock her, so it made me think about anti-theft. So When I try to start it the light cluster turns on, just no crank, No start. at first I thought it was the starter so I tested it by jumping the starter relay, but no when I have the key in on and jump the starter relay she starts right up and runs pretty well. She is kinda sluggish. Which is a whole other thing. Just need some opinions.
  19. Hello all, even though that is an old topic ( sulfur smell inside the vehicle), I would like to know whether a solution has been found by any of you. I found the leak on both sides of the center console ( between the front seats), and Im sure of it because there are white residue prints on both side of the plastic side cover and the carpet under it smell the same. In my case, I dont drive above 2000rpm, and mostly is noticeable when I park the vehicle for some time and close the windows. What is strange is that no smell is present when you stat next to the vehicle, but once you open the door, it is hitting you in the nose directly. Thanks in advance!
  20. Thanks. I replaced the battery and the charge was covered by Lexus, although I have been unable to confirm if the battery was bad (long story). In the final analysis, either the battery was bad or the charging mechanism (alternator or otherwise) wasn't working. If the former is the case, then the problem has been solved (hopefully). If the latter, either that is a significant engineering defect or I need some direction on how to keep the 12 V charged. The question is whether the 12 v battery charges while the car is on EV mode. If the 12 V runs down after every few hundred miles, then that is not sustainable and if there is something in my driving habits (such as operating almost exclusively on EV mode) that needs to change, it would be useful to know. In the meantime, I am getting jumper cables. Until this happened, I had no idea that these were necessary for a PHEV.
  21. Hi. I’m having the same issue. Did you ever figure out what harness is needed?
