  3. Hi, Just bought a '23 NX350 and the shifting into Reverse or Drive has me wondering if I made a wise purchase, does anyone know why one has to step on the brakes so hard to shift into R or D or is there an option on the infotainment display to lessen the brake pressure to release the shifter interlock? Thanks much for any info on this "issue"
  4. Since Lexus has made it's customer service form so cumbersome, I have reported the key fob issue to NHTSA. On the Lexus app, the 2nd Key Program Campaign is not even listed (23LJ01). The dealership cannot provide a clear answer on when this will be fixed. For my wife and me, both 70 years young (I am a disabled Army veteran), this is a potential safety and security concern.

  10. I have a 2014 gs350 fsport, rwd & am replacing all 4 pads & rotors & was looking for a recommendation. I've done tons of research on Amazon, eBay, forums, etc. im getting mildly overwhelmed w all the did things I've read.
  11. It looks like this sound was not present when you bought the vehicle? Is your RX still under warranty? If there is a Toyota-equivalent vehicle, then typically the service cost would be less expensive than at a Lexus dealership. I've had our spark plugs and coolant changed at our local Toyota dealership. Its reduction in cost for the maintenance tasks were significant.
  12. I bought my SC400 about 4 days ago. When I bought it, it was starting good and running pretty well for a 1993. Only 150k Miles on her. In between that time the car alarm did go off when I was trying to unlock her, so it made me think about anti-theft. So When I try to start it the light cluster turns on, just no crank, No start. at first I thought it was the starter so I tested it by jumping the starter relay, but no when I have the key in on and jump the starter relay she starts right up and runs pretty well. She is kinda sluggish. Which is a whole other thing. Just need some opinions.
  13. Hello all, even though that is an old topic ( sulfur smell inside the vehicle), I would like to know whether a solution has been found by any of you. I found the leak on both sides of the center console ( between the front seats), and Im sure of it because there are white residue prints on both side of the plastic side cover and the carpet under it smell the same. In my case, I dont drive above 2000rpm, and mostly is noticeable when I park the vehicle for some time and close the windows. What is strange is that no smell is present when you stat next to the vehicle, but once you open the door, it is hitting you in the nose directly. Thanks in advance!
  14. Thanks. I replaced the battery and the charge was covered by Lexus, although I have been unable to confirm if the battery was bad (long story). In the final analysis, either the battery was bad or the charging mechanism (alternator or otherwise) wasn't working. If the former is the case, then the problem has been solved (hopefully). If the latter, either that is a significant engineering defect or I need some direction on how to keep the 12 V charged. The question is whether the 12 v battery charges while the car is on EV mode. If the 12 V runs down after every few hundred miles, then that is not sustainable and if there is something in my driving habits (such as operating almost exclusively on EV mode) that needs to change, it would be useful to know. In the meantime, I am getting jumper cables. Until this happened, I had no idea that these were necessary for a PHEV.
  15. Hi. I鈥檓 having the same issue. Did you ever figure out what harness is needed?
  16. Hello I was wondering did you find out what that part was broken in your vehicle because my daughter have the same situation?
  17. Hi Dave, Thank you for your suggestions. It will be a few months before I need an oil change, but when I go to the Lexus dealer I will ask the service adviser about it. Incidentally, when Lexus corporate sent me a form letter welcoming me an as owner I did respond with my above concern. I received a reply the next day or two essentially saying that Consumer Reports is an independent testing agency and I should contact them about their report on major reliability problems with the aforementioned engine. I wrote back thanking them for their prompt reply, but I (politely) pointed out that the double down red arrows were not the result of testing but instead based upon a reader survey of owners of the 2021 NX300h. I didn't hear anything back and that was a few weeks ago so it's safe to say that Lexus corporate is disinterested and considers the matter closed.
  18. Hello, Bill. Who tested the battery, and was it load-tested? Obviously, not starting after one week is not normal. Is your remote fob battery good? If that battery is week, you can sometimes verify by placing the fob against the vehicle's start button as you press that button. A weak fob button can often allow the vehicle to start if you do it this way.
  19. Have a 2004 ES 330 that is having, what sounds like, a similar problem. The battery and starter seem to work fine. It will start and work great, but every once-in-a-while, it doesn't start. All the dash lights come on but the starter won't kick in. This seems to happen most often just after filling the gas tank. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this. It has been to the mechanic three or four times for this, but it still happens. The first time, we just tightened the gas cap and that worked. I purchased a new Toyota gas cap about 18 months ago because of an evap system code, but we still continue to have this issue.
  20. I'm confused. Where did you end up routing the hose to?
  21. I had the same problem with AFS on my 2007 ES350 - could not locate the switch (it's referenced in my manual, but picture was not very helpful). Instruction to locate switch was perfect. Worked like a champ. Thanks! Victor
