1999 Lx470 Hard Start When Hot If Gas Cap Tight, Ok If Loose.

I began getting a CEL with 441 and 446 codes about the same time the vehicle was hard to start after sitting while warm. Strong fuel smell coming from air filter area. No problems starting when cold. Lots of diagnostic steps ie. emission valves etc and all OK. I tried not tightening the gas cap and now the vehicle still has CEL but starts fine all the time but a strong fuel smell from the gas cap when shutting down vehicle. No change in fuel economy or other driveability problems. No smog checks in Hawaii but would like to resolve the problem.

Any suggestions?

Did you ever drop the gas cap?? I was getting a warning lite so I called and talked to my service manager..he suggested I get a new gas cap and drive the vehicle. for about 10 miles or so giving the computer time to reset itself..problem solved..
