Tire Pressure Monitoring System?

Recommended Posts

We recently purchased a 2014 RX350AWD. We have owned Cadillacs previously and they have tire pressure monitoring for each of the four tires. Does the RX350 have this and, if so, how does one access the information?

Thanks,

Meredosia

Yes, your RX has a system that monitors pressure in all four tires. The Toyota/Lexus system only tells you when pressure in a tire is low via a warning light in the instrument cluster and leaves it up to you to figure out which one is low. Your owners manual explains how to reinitialize the system after correcting the pressures or having a flat tire repaired.

Well ... I may stand corrected! Does the 2014 RX350 have the cute little individual tire pressure display like the 2014 IS? I'm thinking that the RX still has only the old style single idiot light.

My 2013 Toyota RAV4 LTD only has an idiot light as far as I can tell. I really like the ability on my IS250 to be able to call up the exact tire pressures at any time. Kind of interesting to see how the PSI increases as you heat up the tires.

Our 2013 RX350 does not have individual tire pressures display. My 2013 ES350 does have individual pressure readings. What a great improvement!! I felt the "one size fits all" monitoring was helpful but didn't give you any clue as where to start.

The new individual monitoring only shows pressure for 4 tires. Therefore I don't know if the spare is still monitored or if they dropped it to save cost.

Any body know?

Paul

i am looking at the above solution ,it looks like the size is for Toyota (Lexus)
so it can fit on an available dash switch opening ?

I have a 2012 RX350 and it does have a tire monitoring system. There are speed sensors on each wheel, and if one shows a increase in speed it will indicate a tire with low pressure (the contact radious to the road will decease so the tire has to spin faster so the comparison to the other will flag that tire). I don't remember reading about it in the manual, but check it as it should note this feature. Keep your tires evern pressure - mine is 32psi.
