SueR Posted January 3, 2015 Share Posted January 3, 2015 I have a new 2015 RX450h and experienced this problem to about 140 degrees with flir pictures as proof. The explanation I received was the outside wall of the console is the used a the vent. If you think of the vent as being a box, 3 sides are added to the inside of the console with the 4th side being the console wall. My opinion, extremely poor design and a lot of wasted energy used to heat and cool the side of the front seats. Just don't drop a chocolate bar down in that space!
