Evaporator Core

I have a 2002 rx300. Needs evaporator core. Was quoted 1365.00 and said that was everything. Only other item that may be needed was some type of "bag"

Now they want 200.00 more for expansion valve. That was never brought up, even when I asked was the 1365.00 "everything".

I assume xpv is by the core and makes sense to replace. Does it have to be? And should that not have been explained at time of quote?

I thought they went hand-in-hand when doing some research prior to taking it in.

Not really applicable, but vehicle was bought new from this dealer. The Manager is young and they don't do many cores, so it could have been an honest mistake. I guess
