Problem With Phone Book In 2006 Mark Levinson System

I have just got a 2006 SC 430 with the Mark Levinson navigation/Bluetooth system. I think my problem will be the same for all models which use this system.

My cell phones pair with it perfectly (iPhone 4S and old Sharp GX30) and I can make calls from the phone through the system absolutely fine. But when I try the Transfer Phone Data / Start Transfer from the Settings screen, its fails to download any contacts to the Address Book even though the Data Transfer screen appears with Please send Phone Book from the phone.

Please does anyone know either:

Is it possible to enter data manually?

or

What make and model of bluetooth phone will work with the system?

thanks to anyone who can help,

maxc

I am having the same problem with my 2012 RX350 with NAV option.

I switched to a new phone service provider and got a new Samsung Gio and a Motorola Motoluxe. Both phones connect and operate fine with Bluetooth but when I try to tranfer the phonebooks the screen shows "transfering data" but then after a minute says "tranfer failed"

I have made bluetooth "discoverable" on both phones every time I tried the tranfer.

The Motoluxe phone displays a message somewhere that says something like "paired but not connected" ( to the NAV system)

I stumped and need some help (dealer is a fair distance away and could not assist my on the phone)

Have you checked http://www.lexus.com/bluetooth/ to see if the compatibility levels of your phones are shown?

If a phone has a high level of compatibility, it is usually not necessary to manually transfer its phonebook - it would be automatic.

They only show information for US carriers and Lexus.ca does not have this tool. Typical eh :)

Eventually solved the problem of transferring my address book to the 2006 SC 430 with the Mark Levinson navigation eventually, about a month ago. Used the compatibility tool at

https://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/info/my-lexus/resources/bluetooth.do

and looked for a number of carrier-phone models until I found that the old AT&T Sony-Ericsson Z310a looked to be the best. Found the phone (obviously, used) for a few bucks on e-Bay and spent $10 on an AT&T Simcard. Downloaded my contact list (synchronized on my laptop from my iPhone) to the Z310a and then transferred it to the car - the last part was not simple - the sequence of phone actions and car actions did not always work and I just kept trying till it transferred.

Sorry kayjack that this may not be of help for you.
