Purchased a new 1998 GS300 and it still looks like new, inside and out with 147,000 miles. I love the car and would l have no fear driving it coast to coast. However, I am having A/C issues that relates to a very slow leak of cooling refrigerant, most likely under the dashboard that no mechanics have been able to pinpoint even with the dyes. I live in Southern Indiana with a lot of hot and humid summers and only relief has been recharging about every two weeks. Any ideas? Do I keep or get rid of it?

The A/C system in this car is fairly bullet-proof, surprised you are having trouble. I'd say get it away from the mechanic at the Corner Exxon and bring it to Lexus. They will know where to look for leaks.
Only other thing that comes to mind would be if the car was ever involved in a front end collision you may have a problem with the condenser or the associated hoses and o-rings.
